

Death Before DawnFlashbacks from my life go through my head as I sleep on a pillow of solid rock out in the desert. These flashbacks aren't of the brief happy moments in my life, but of all of the horrific things that I have done during my lifetime. Thus I have made an oath to myself never to kill again. I woke up that night by the fire that I had made just hours before, surrounded by the darkness and loneliness of the desert. I realize that this night, just like all nights before it, would be occupied by cleaning my knife, and trying to drink away the figures that haunt me in my sleep.
